Greetings Heart of Mary Alumni and Friends :
This past December 2018, I officially accepted the privilege of becoming The Most Pure Heart of Mary Alumni President. As an active member of the association I am well aware of the awesome challenges facing the leadership of this organization. At present the biggest challenge facing the organization is communicating with members who are scattered across the country with no forwarding information especially those who graduated after the closure in 1968- present .The second challenge is the generating of interest in fundraising to assist in the everyday funding of the school in order to keep it open and operating smoothly. We need active participation on a regular basis by Alumni.
In recent years much effort has been spent on upgrading technology and classrooms in order make sure that the physical plant is up to standards. That being said a school without students cannot exist. This brings up our third challenge :the question of keeping the enrollment at a level where it is financially feasible for the school to remain open.
As your president I hope to do everything that I can do to increase communications with all Alumni members, to increase fundraising efforts and to connect with the community to let them know that Heart of Mary School is here to provide a superior education for the young people in this community and beyond.
In closing I hope to keep in touch and meet with all of you at our planned activities that include two fundraising breakfasts a year and a Mardi Gras Fundraising activity usually scheduled The Monday before Mardi Gras Day. Please check updates on the Web page.
Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your Alumni Association President.
